The newly split power couple of tennis star Caroline Wozniacki and golfer Rory McIlroy seem to be moving on since Rory dumped Caroline last month. Wozniacki has bounced back from a clay court defeat at the French Open with a victory on grass at the Eastbourne Tournament. Her ex-fiancee is playing good golf, when major airlines aren't losing his clubs.
Rory McIlroy showed up to the Irish Open on Tuesday to discover that during his flight with United Airlines he became separated from some special cargo (via Sydney Morning Herald):
"The former world number one had landed in home in Ireland yesterday to discover his golf clubs had gone missing en route.
"McIlroy's clubs would not only have a price tag high enough to make even the most avid amateur golfer blanch, they're also completely customised to McIlroy's style of play."
McIlroy even took to Twitter to help motivate the airline to find his precious clubs (via Sydney Morning Herald):
"Hey @united landed in Dublin yesterday morning from Newark and still no golf clubs... Sort of need them this week... Can someone help!?"
Meanwhile his ex-girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki has apparently snapped back into action after having her heart broken by that wily Irishman. She won her quarterfinal against Sloane Stephens in two sets. She attributed her win to the preferred terrain on which she played (via Super Sport):
"'The grass really suits me,' said the Dane following her 6-3 6-3 win over unseeded American Sloane Stephens. 'I like the fast ball and pace I get from my opponent's shots.
"'I just enjoyed it and I played well out there.
"'I held my composure and I served well. I'm pleased with how I played.'"
What do you think? Is Caroline Wozniacki better off without McIlroy?
