Earlier in the month SNL and 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan was hospitalized after a Wal-Mart tractor trailer smashed into limo bus and four other vehicles. Morgan and three others were severely injured, and killed Morgan’s writer and friend James “Jimmy Mack” McNair. Morgan has been hospitalized for the past two weeks and was even rumored to have lost his leg. Now a new health update for Morgan has been released and it is free of any amputation rumors.
Shortly, after Morgan’s crash, his rep Lewis Kay, released a statement to the press about his condition.:
"His family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care. We don't anticipate much of a change in his condition today but will provide a further update once more information becomes available."
Kay later updated the press about Morgan’s condition:
"While Tracy remains in critical condition, he has been more responsive today, which is an incredibly encouraging sign. We expect him to remain in the hospital for several weeks. His family is tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."
Morgan underwent surgery on his leg, sparking rumors that the he was going to lose his leg. Morgan fiance Megan Wollover had Kay address these rumors last week, via another press statement:
"The concern for his well-being has been overwhelming, but Megan [Morgan’s fiance] is respectfully asking that the media await official word through these channels before speculating (mostly inaccurately) on his condition. Rumors about amputating his leg are completely fabricated.”
The most recent update on Morgan’s is a lot happier than the last, as Kay states:
“Happy to pass along that Tracy has been upgraded to fair condition, which is a great improvement. His personality is certainly starting to come back as well.
“Also, Jeff Millea’s family shared that he has been upgraded to fair condition as well.”
