As has been noted all over the internet lately, Daniel Bryan's absence from the ring since injuring his neck has actually made the WWE Title scene vibrant and healthy. By vacating the title, the Money In The Bank Ladder Match on June 29 is now a title match. The man who climbs to the top and grabs the belts (still annoyed about the two belts) will be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
This is not to say that Bryan won't come back strong. But in his absence a lot of superstars have stepped up like Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns and Sheamus. One could even interpret the Shield's recent demise as a reaction to the gaping hole Bryan left behind. All three members of the splintered faction seem poised to have successful solo runs.
What does this mean for Bryan in terms of a recovery time table? (via Wrestle Zone):
"In terms of specifics, it's being suggested that Bryan slow down the pace of his matches and cut down on the high risk maneuvers, namely the diving head butt."
Of course the main thing is that Bryan needs time. Time that WWE might not have seen fit to afford him if the title scene hadn't exploded in the last couple of weeks (via Bleacher Report):
"Stripping Bryan of the titles was essentially out of WWE's hands, since staging consecutive pay-per-views without the company's top prize on the line would have been a stretch. Taking the titles from Bryan also alleviates the pressure on him to rush his recovery and return to action quickly. WWE officials would obviously love to have Bryan back in the fold as soon as possible, but the main focus needs to be on his health."
So as the YES! Movement prepares for a comeback, there will still be plenty of hot main event action in the weeks and months to come.
