Floyd Mayweather has proved once again that he is classless and disgusting. Acting like a character straight out of a 50's public service announcement Mayweather posted a rant on Instagram justifying ill treatment of women based on how they dress. This kind of sexist behavior is unacceptable, just like when he stirred up controversy in May by publicizing his ex-fiancee's abortion. That combined with the Memorial Day beatdown involving TI paints a picture of a child in a man's body. Not fitting for the highest paid athlete in 2014.
Money May is so good at what he does, he clocks in once a year and makes more money than you can dream of making (via Forbes):
"Mayweather earned $105 million during the past 12 months for 72 minutes of work in the ring for fights against Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana. The payday puts Mayweather atop Forbes' annual list of the world's highest-paid athletes for the second time in three years. Mayweather is the first athlete, besides Tiger Woods, to crack the $100 million earnings threshold (Michael Jordan, Michael Schumacher and Mike Tyson have also turned the trick on an inflation-adjusted basis)."
And it's precisely that wealth and influence that buys him the gall to use rape rhetoric to advise women on how to appear in public (via MStarz):
"How a female dresses is her advertisement. If a female shows half of her body, she's asking to be disrespected," he wrote. "If she dresses classy, expect to be treated like a lady. How you're addressed relies on your attire. Sexy is a spirit, not an outfit."
Thanks, Floyd, for publicly supporting slut-shaming and male entitlement. You have single-handedly set back women's civil rights 40 years.
