Joseph "Joe" Jackson the father of the famous Jackson family suffered a mild stroke according to FOX News.
A close family insider said. "He's in 'serious' condition. Joe has been struggling with his health a lot over the past three or four months," said the source. "The good thing is that he was taken immediately to the hospital as he was with a couple of people at the time."
Jackson suffered a stroke Thursday morning and is being treated at a Las Vegas hospital, The 83-year old "is in very good spirits" and expects to be sent home from the hospital Friday, said the source, who asked not to be identified according to CNN.
The former Jackson 5 manager's "mild" stroke is similar to the two others he suffered in the past five years, another source close to Jackson said. Jackson, who is separated from his estranged wife Katherine Jackson, lives in Las Vegas while Katherine lives Calabasas, California, with Michael Jackson's three children.
Katherine, who hasn't been in the best health herself, was recommended by a doctor to leave Los Angeles in July because "her health was really bad," her son Randy Jackson told "Good Morning America."
Joe both created and managed the Jackson 5. His image is somewhat tarnished due to his children saying he was abusive towards them.
Fox News reported that despite his age and declining health still remains active in developing and promoting several businesses and products.
