Obama-Bashing James Woods Near Death Heart Attack Scare at World Series of Poker? [TWITTER]

Actor James Woods had a heart attack scare last week as he was preparing to compete in the World Series Of Poker in Las Vegas. He is fine, but took precautions just to be safe. Of course last year, Woods didn't play it safe when he bashed President Obama during the government shutdown.

Woods, age 67, reached out through Twitter to update fans and loved ones about his condition, which was not a heart attack (via Epoch Times):

"I did what every person my age should do with any sign of sudden symptoms that could be cardiac related. I'm sharing hoping others take care... Update: seems the incident was not heart related. Possibly food poisoning with sudden onset of virulent symptoms. Great care here in LV ... I've had such a nice response from so many kind friends and Twitter followers. It is so comforting and I'm deeply appreciative."

He also stressed the importance of knowing as much as possible about heart-related issues at his age, adding one should never try to "'outguess' chest pains."

While Woods' heart may be ticking just fine, he may have killed his acting career last year when he heavily criticized President Obama on the same social media site. Usually Republicans in Hollywood aren't so outspoken (via Huffington Post):

"Woods spoke out on the government shutdown, placing the onus on Obama, while also criticizing the president for various other problems in the country, including gun violence and race relations. He continued to respond to both those who agreed with him and those who did not, calling Obama 'a true abomination' and linking to articles about the shutdown."

While it's good that Woods is okay, and it's dandy that he can express himself freely, but he might be kicking himself in five years when he decides he wants to act again.
