Brodus Clay, along with 9 other wrestlers, were cut from the WWE last week. The fired superstars, who were deemed dead weight, are presumably being removed to clear the way for up and coming NXT talent to move up. Curt Hawkins, one of the fallen, responded to Mark Henry's recent Twitter slam in which he seemingly bragged about still being in the company after 18 years. Hawkins called him an idiot for Tweeting that mere days after a slew of folks just got canned. Meanwhile Clay, one of the more surprising cuts, has plans to swim with dolphins in Japan.
After a promising start in the WWE, Brodus Clay (aka Funkasaurus) has been let go as part of a purge of superstars. But he's not rolling over. Clay intends to go overseas to make the world a better place (via TMZ):
"Brodus says he booked a trip to Japan for this summer and plans to protest dolphin hunting. He's been passionate about the cause ever since seeing the Oscar winning documentary, The Cove.
"The Funkasaurus tells us he's bummed about losing his job -- WWE cut a total of 9 wrestlers today -- but he's excited to do some other things -- like acting and writing a book."
Clay also says he is interested in continue a career in wrestling, although he is very serious about the dolphins.
In addition to Clay, Curt Hawkins lost his job, and he was screaming mad at former colleague Mark Henry. Hawkins responded to Henry's message on Twitter (via Cage Side Seats):
"'"@TheMarkHenry: Here we stand. Still here!!!" Your colleagues lose their jobs & you tweet that? You're an idiot Mark.'
"We have no way of knowing if Henry was actually taking a shot at the wrestlers who were cut today, but it certainly comes off like a needlessly insensitive tweet he had to know would be read by the folks who just lost their job."
These are the remaining wrestlers released from WWE last week: Camacho, Evan Bourne, Yoshi Tatsu, Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre, Aksana, Teddy Long, and JTG.
