NBA Hall Of Famer and TNT analyst Reggie Miller always speaks his mind. Soft spoken at times, brash and belligerent at others, Miller will share his opinion. What does he think of soccer coaches banning their players from having sex during the World Cup? He thinks that's dumb. But what might he say if he learned that he was involved in a New York drug bust? We don't know yet. What we do know is that during a 13-month investigation Miller's name was used by a drug ring as a code for a certain amount of cocaine and/or heroin.
When a TMZ reporter asked Miller about the so-called sex ban on certain World Cup soccer teams he said he didn't think much of that (via TMZ):
"Miller -- one of the most clutch athletes of all-time -- says he doesn't understand why World Cup teams forbid their players from banging during the tourney ... saying, 'If you're a trained athlete, I think you're gonna focus no matter what.'
"He adds, 'It's mind over matter, isn't it?'"
Miller may be outspoken but at least he isn't a trafficker of cocaine and heroin. However, after a 13-month investigation of a major New York drug ring one thing wire taps revealed was that part of their code was the name "Reggie Miller". To invoke the former Pacers players name meant you wanted 31 grams of coke, a reference to his jersey number (via Indy Star):
"More than 30 people were indicted earlier this month in New York as a 13-month investigation called 'Operation Crazy Train' busted a major heroin and cocaine drug ring...
"Why a 'Reggie Miller'? Well, maybe because New Yorkers were used to Miller messing them up. Or they were driven to drugs [by his competitive play]."
