What would Father’s Day be without “The Children?” No, we don’t mean the fruit from your loins, but the Season 4 finale of the hit HBO series, Game of Thrones. Tonight’s finale episode of the year promises us more action than we have seen in previous finales.
The official plot synopsis for the all new episode, titled "The Children," reads:
“In the Season 4 finale, Daenerys must face harsh realities; Bran learns more about his destiny; Tyrion sees the truth of his situation; and circumstances north of the Wall are altered by an unexpected arrival.”
Long time Game of Thrones Alex Graves (Infamous for his Jaime Lannister rape scene comments) recently spoke to TV Guide about the new episode:
"The show has traditionally always made the ninth episode their big episode. This is the first season where the finale is a finale. It is an all-out, massive, episode. It's the largest episode that's ever been made. A lot happens."
Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss released a statement to the press about the new episode, echoing Graves statement:
"It's the best finale we've ever done, bar none. The performances from our cast, the direction from Alex Graves, the VFX work, the new [music] cues from Ramin Djawadi -- all of it came together in perhaps the finest hour we've produced. We're immensely proud of 'The Children.' And a little intimidated by the episode, because now we have to get back to the business of season five and figure out a way to top it."
The all new episode of Game of Thrones airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
