This week saw major updates in the past and current cast of the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie. New rumors suggest that Rita Ora found out about her breakup with Calvin Harris via Twitter. And Charlie Hunnam finally opened up about what it was like to walk away from the role of Christian Grey.
To say that the 50 Shades of Grey movie has been plagued with a number of problems is probably putting it lightly. From the onset of filming, the movie has had to overcome a number of difficulties.
Chief among those problems, perhaps, is Charlie Hunnam. The hunky Sons of Anarchy star, who was first selected to portray Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty, walked away from the role just weeks before filming was set to begin.
As a result, the shooting schedule had to be pushed back, leading to a delay in the film's release date. At the time, it was announced that Charlie walked away from the role because it conflicted with his Sons of Anarchy shooting schedule.
However, many didn't buy the excuse, considering both schedules were made way in advance of shooting. Not to mention, Charlie was widely criticized as the choice of Christian Grey.
Regardless of the reason, Charlie has remained fairly tight-lipped about the exit. That is, of course, until now. In a recent interview with Life and Style, Charlie commented about leaving the role:
"When you put the time into something like that and a character comes alive in your mind, it's heartbreaking not to be able to play him. It was definitely kind of heartbreaking having to say goodbye to that character and not bring it to life."
Charlie's not the only cast member to generate press from their personal life. Rita Ora is also in the news.
The beautiful actress/singer made waves when it was revealed that she and Calvin Harris broke up. In fact, some have even suggested that Rita wasn't aware of the breakup until reading Calvin's twitter.
