They're not kidding when they say New York City is a flesh market. And that can be taken all kinds of ways by NY football Giants wide receiver Prince Amukamara. Whether he's being pimped out by retired Giant alumnus Tiki Barber for Bar Mitzvahs or being fined for being fat to the tune of $500 per pound, Amukamara has got to be feeling like a piece of meat. And as long as it's not steak, Amukamara can eat it!
Giants wideout made headlines a few weeks ago with a surprise appearance at a kid's Bar Mitzvah along with several teammates. The reason he was there? He was paid to be, and there ain't no shame in that. Former Giants great Tiki Barber heads up a for-hire service whereby fans with enough scratch can rent an athlete for their party or special event (via NJ.com):
"The site noted Barber runs a site called Thuzio, where anyone can hire current and former athletes to make appearances for a price (Amukamara is listed at $6,250, for example, but lunch or dinner with him will cost just $3,750).
"'It really was a big surprise for the boy A.J.,' Amukamara told TMZ. 'They announced us... they had our pictures, it was pretty great. I'm sure the kids had a great time, and so did I!!'"
And as if Prince didn't already feel like just a piece of meat he recently divulged to TMZ that his team fines players if they exceed their designated weight requirements (via TMZ):
"'Everyone has to meet a certain weight requirement ... and if you are overweight you get fined like $500 a pound.'
"But when it comes to his diet, Prince -- who's awesome btw -- told us he has his own rule ... he doesn't eat steak."
When pressed he explained that he's not a vegetarian. He just doesn't have time for all that chewing and swallowing.
