When a fan fell into the bullpen at Miller Park last week, pitcher Brandon Kintzler says he thought the guy died. And after watching this, Kintzler decided to keep pitching! The Milwaukee Brewers reliever was about to start warming up when a fan fell over the side and fell face-first into the Brewers' bullpen. The fan was taken to the hospital and released. He appears to have suffered no serious injuries.
Reliever Brandon Kintzler must be working on some great concentration techniques because when he saw a fan laying on the ground near him in the bullpen his response was to go about his business and get ready for the game (via Washington Post):
"'He was on the ground before I started warming up,' Brandon Kintzler said (via JSonline.com). 'I thought he died. We were sitting there and [bullpen catcher] Marcus [Hamel] yelled, "Oh, gosh!" We saw the net [over the bullpen area] come flying down. I think the net caught him, then he just face-planted. He didn't move for a few minutes. I thought he was dead.'"

Even though he has battled injury for the last few years Kintzler insists the game is way more of a mental exercise. Kintzler says that mechanics can be honed but the real trick is staying sharp psychologically (via Fox News):
"It's always different when the hitters gets into the box. You have to be mentally confident in the process. This game is a process and will definitely test you. I'm being tested. Last year was a breeze, this year is testing me."
"All of a sudden one thing goes wrong and you start to feel like you have to fix a million things instead of simplifying it all. It's a little trap you get into."
