John Cena Newest Shield Member? Seth Rollins Heel Evolution Promo [VIDEO]

Is John Cena the newest member of the Shield? After joining the remaining members in a 3-on-3 tag team match on RAW this Monday, that could very well be the case. Following the betrayal by founding Shield member Seth Rollins last week, the new heel cut a promo outlining his decision to partner up with Evolution.

Seth Rollins came out Monday night on RAW in a suit and tie and did his spiel about evolving and adapting and while a lot of re-cappers called it lame and cliché it was actually a pretty good spot. Rollins has what it takes to be a villain so if WWE decides to stick with that gimmick they can probably get some good mileage out of it.

Check out the Seth Rollins spot here:

To fill the void Rollins left behind, at least for one night, John Cena tagged with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns against the Wyatt Family. There was a generally positive reaction to this pairing, and some are hoping for a permanent partnership (via Examiner):

"There's a lot the WWE could do with this new angle. Cena has been feuding with The Wyatt Family for months now, so it should be a seamless transition for him to join a tag-team such as The Shield. Cena, Ambrose and Reigns makes for a great three-on-three for bouts against The Wyatt Family."

Others aren't so sure those two great flavors go together (via Cage Side Seats):

"Look, it made sense for the story to have Triple H book what was left of The Shield in a 3-on-2 against The Wyatt Family and then laugh about how they almost surely won't be able to find a partner... It also made sense to have John Cena run out to assist The Shield when they were overrmatched while brawling with The Wyatt Family. And, yes, it made sense to have Cena tag with The Shield against the Family in the night's main event.

"And I still can't help but hate it."
