Jim Ross, the voice of the WWE for almost 20 years, was hospitalized last week after a trip to Las Vegas. The famed announcer exhibited "stroke-like symptoms" and ran several tests. Ross, who was fired last year presumably for allowing Ric Flair to open his mouth at WWE event, has remained busy with a podcast as well as stints with boxing and MMA.
JR has been released from an Oklahoma hospital after a medical scare (via TMZ):
"Ross says he got home from a trip to Vegas Thursday night and wasn't feeling well ... so his wife forced him to go to a nearby hospital in Oklahoma to get checked out.
"Doctors ran a battery of tests on the 62-year-old and ultimately determined the symptoms were being caused by meds he had been taking for an unrelated medical issue.
"Ross' doctors are confident they fixed the problem -- changed his medication -- and the podcast-host was released from the hospital Saturday evening.
"Ross adds, 'I'm not ready to tag out just yet.'"
Ross recently spoke out about his dismissal from the WWE following a WWE 2K14 symposium in which Ric Flair drunkenly elaborated on his son's death and Ross was accused of being drunk. Ross, who has Bell's Palsy, has denied being drunk at the event and says that the effects of his disease sometimes causes facial muscles to slacken and the speech to slur.
While Ross feels his dismissal was a little harsh he claims that he has a good relationship with the company. After all, he's got a lot of heat right now from several projects (via Cage Side Seats):
"Ross has been so successful with his touring show and now his Ross Report podcast that he may finally have broken away from WWE for good. It's still an unbelievable story to think that the WWE 2K14 Symposium and Ric Flair's behavior was what helped drive him out the door. Meanwhile, Flair is back working with the company while Ross is left to his own devices."
