‘30 Rock’ Tracy Morgan Health Update After Near-Death Wal-Mart Truck Crash: Hospitalized For Weeks

Over the weekend, 30 Rock star and former Saturday Night Live star Tracy Morgan was seriously injured when a Wal-Mart tractor-trailer truck slammed into his limo bus. At least three others were severely hurt during the crash including Morgan’s opening act Ardie Fuqua. Comedian and writer James “Jimmy Mack” McNair was tragically killed in the accident. Now new updates about Morgan’s condition are being revealed claiming that he may be in the hospital for weeks.

Following Saturday’s tragic crash, Tracy Morgan rep, Lewis Kay, released a statement to NBC News about the incident:

"His family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care. We don't anticipate much of a change in his condition today but will provide a further update once more information becomes available."

Kay has since released another update on Morgan’s condition:

"While Tracy remains in critical condition, he has been more responsive today, which is an incredibly encouraging sign. We expect him to remain in the hospital for several weeks. His family is tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."

Morgan suffered several broken bones, including his: ribs, nose, leg and femur. He underwent surgery on his leg on Sunday.

Wal-Mart CEO Bill Simon has released a statement on Saturday stating that the company will take ‘full responsibility,” if it is determined that their truck was the cause of the accident:
"We are working quickly to understand what happened and are cooperating fully with law enforcement to aid their investigation. The facts are continuing to unfold. If it's determined that our truck caused the accident, Walmart will take full responsibility."
