Like some sort of twisted joke of fate Tracy Morgan and his opener Ardie Fuqua both seemingly foreshadowed the tragic crash that injured them and took the life the of friend James McNair this weekend. The accident happened early Saturday morning when an Wal-Mart tractor-trailer truck slammed into Tracy Morgan’s limo bus. Shortly before the incident, Ardie Fuqua had a posted a picture of the the luxury bus, boasting about “road life.” One of Tracy Morgan’s very last Twitter post made a reference to “truck loads of funny.”
Early Saturday Morning comedian Tracy Morgan, best known for his roles on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, and three other traveling companions were seriously injured when a tractor-trailer crashed into their bus. The accident also tragically took the life of Morgan’s writer and friend, James “Jimmy Mack” McNair.
It seems fate has its own twisted sense of humor. Shortly before his performance at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, Tracy Morgan tweeted:
"Dover downs I'm coming with truck loads of funny Delaware stand up get those tix while u can baby!!!!!'
Morgan’s opening act, Ardie Fuqua, tweeted about luxury life on the road shortly before the accident. Fuqua posted a series of pics from the stage as well as one of the inside of the limo, writing:
"This is what it looks like from the stage to see a standing ovation from 1500 people. Then we traveled back to NYC in style in a luxury Mercedes Sprinter. Road life is a good life!"
We wish everyone involved in the tragic crash and their families all the best during this difficult time.
