The Undertaker, perennial fan favorite whether face or heel, is undoubtedly in his twilight. While many, including Taker himself, are not currently hopeful about a return to the ring after his brutal loss to Brock Lesnar there is still a sliver of hope that he could do one more match, possibly to go out with a win. Right now it's undecided whether he will return to the WWE's Wrestlemania next year to avenge himself. Also Ric Flair shared his thoughts on the end of Undertaker's undefeated streak.
The wrestling world is still in shock after Undertaker's loss to Brock Lesnar at this year's Wrestlemania. Taker is clearly either retired or soon to be retired, although he is reportedly back in the gym training.
After 30 years in the business, Undertaker has seen his share of bumps and bruises. With each passing year it gets harder and harder to recover (via Wrestle Zone):
"When asked about a return to WWE, The Undertaker has reportedly been telling people that it's 'not looking good.'
"Undertaker's future has certainly been in question following WrestleMania 30 where his undefeated streak was broken by Brock Lesnar. Taker suffered a concussion during the match, not to mention his general physical health has steadily been getting worse and worse each year, even prior to this year's 'Mania."
Long-time friend and colleague Ric Flair commented recently on the historic loss. He was as surprised as anyone but didn't offer any criticism of Vince McMahon's decision (via Wrestling Inc):
"'I wanted to see (the streak) go on, but I understand,' Flair said. 'Times change, it is what it is. You saw how quiet the fans got. They weren't ready for that, so obviously they didn't foresee that.'"
Regardless of whether fans think it was the right move or not, moving forward, there's no turning back. Undertaker has been transformed into a mere mortal, and the world is probably worse for wear.
