Several members of the Washington Redskins teamed with Matthew McConaughey to raise money for NFL's "Play 60" and Mac's own "Just Keep Livin" charities. The event, held Wednesday night, featured 6 films. Each movie was chosen by a member of the Redskins. But the Redskins, including quarterback RG3, dissed McConaughey when not a single one of them picked one of his movies.
To raise some money for Play 60, Robert Griffin III and teammates joined up with Matthew McConaughey. But nobody picked "Dazed and Confused". Or any other movie of his for that matter (via TMZ):
"The event was a fundraiser at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Ashburn, VA yesterday -- 6 players in 6 theaters treated fans to one of their favorite movies.
"For the record, the event raised money for the NFL's 'Play 60' program and Matt's 'Just Keep Livin' foundation ... tickets were $200-a-pop."
Matt has also been spotted at the teams OTAs this week. Was anybody distracted by his presence? (via Washington Times):
"'I mean, I think if I was a woman I would notice it a lot more,'" Griffin cracked when asked if he was aware of McConaughey's presence. 'But, yeah, it's great to have him out here. He's a big supporter of us as a team. Anytime we can get those guys out here we want to and he'll be participating in Alfred's event. Looking forward to get there and get to know him a little bit more. We're honored to have him here.'"
Hey guys, it's great that you appreciate the gesture and all, but not even "We Are Marshall" made the cut. Are you serious? Anyway, at $200 a ticket hopefully the popcorn was on the house.
What do you think? What is your favorite Matthew McConaughey movie?
