SPOILER ALERT: Can’t wait until Season 3 of Hannibal? Do you have to know now who lives or who dies? Well we have bad news for you. You won’t be getting any answers any time soon. The first episode of the new season is will focus on Mads Mikkelsen’s Hannibal and Gillian Anderson’s Dr. Maurier, and so you will have to wait until episodes 2-3 to see and Will, Jack and the others are still breathing.
The Season 2 finale of NBC’s Hannibal was one bloody mess, and it won't all be sorted out anytime soon. Will has been gutted, Abigail had her throat slit and Jack got the mess beat of him. Now Hannibal executive producer Bryan Fuller recently teased the first episode of Season 3, telling Deadline:
“There is going to be a painful delay and you won’t find out in the first episode who survives. The first episode focuses on Dr. Bedelia du Maurier [Gillian Anderson].”
Fuller has also explained that we have already seen the first scene of Season 3, telling TV Line:
“This is the end of Season 2, and essentially, after credits, that scene on the airplane is the first scene of Season 3. And the fun thing about the Season 3 opener is that we’re going to get into the specifics of exactly why Bedelia is in that chair, how she came to be in that chair, how it was actually an intriguing, smart decision for her, as opposed to Hannibal Lecter hijacking her and kidnapping her. I think she is absolutely where she has chosen to be, and how she made that choice is the hinge of Episode 1, Season 3.”
