Charles Manson Parole From Prison Rumors After ‘Party Monster’ Michael Alig Release? [HOAX]

You may have heard by now that Charles Manson has been released from prison. Well don’t believe everything that you hear...especially those voices in your head. The 79-year-old murder mastermind is safely locked behind bars. An internet hoax claiming that Manson had been paroled is making the rounds. However, the “Club Kid Killer” Michael Alig was recently released from prison. Alig was the subject of the film Party Monster where he was played by Macaulay Culkin.

If you have read the recent headline on Empire News about Charles Manson getting parole, then you likely flipped at the thought of one of the most notorious names in mass murder being freed. Well your minds can rest at ease. Empire News is a satirical site with fake headlines. However, a very real killer was recently released from prison.

Last month the “Club Kid Killer,” Michael Alig was released from prison. Following his release, Alig told told Rolling Stone all about the murder of Angel Melendez and how it was played in the film:

“No, there is no reason. Not only is there no reason, there’s no justification. The actual killing was not done on purpose. I just saw Party Monster last week, watching it with James St. James [his friend, played by Seth Green in the movie]. I understand it’s a movie, and it’s not intended to be completely factual, but there are some things that never happened, especially involving the crime: they have Freeze hitting Angel over the head with the metal part of the hammer, with blood spurting all over. And that isn’t how it happened. He grabbed the claw and hit him with the wooden handle.

“I think the difference is major because it shows intent. He did not intend to cause that much bodily harm to Angel. In fact, in the autopsy there was not even a cut on Angel’s head because he didn’t him that hard. The movie makes it look like Freeze went to town on him with a hammer--really upsetting to watch.”

Alig hasn’t been out long and he has already adjusted to the outside world. He has quickly become one of those annoying people who broadcast every time they go to gym, tweeting:

“Working on self-improvement every day, one little step @ a time. Today's step: Joining a gym! @weightoffmyshoulders.”
