Move over vampires, keep walking zombies, fairy-tales have taken over as the new hot fad. The small screen is cluttered with storybook creatures, and it is only going to get more crowded. Both NBC’s Grimm and ABC’s Once Upon A Time will be returning for their fourth season next year. Once Upon A Time will be adding characters from Disney’s hit animated musical Frozen this time around. NBC will also be taking us over the rainbow in the upcoming re imaging of the Wizard of Oz, Emerald City. The network will also have us all thinking happy thoughts with their live staging of the classic Peter Pan musical.
“I do believe in fairy-tales.” The genre has taking over small screen. Recently NBC announced that it was working on a new Wizard of Oz series Emerald City.
The official press release states: for the upcoming series, reads:
"'Emerald City' is a dramatic and modern reimagining of the tales that include lethal warriors, competing kingdoms, and the infamous wizard as we've never seen him before. A headstrong 20 year-old Dorothy Gale is unwittingly sent on an eye-opening journey that thrusts her into the center of an epic and bloody battle for the control of Oz."
If you still want more storybook for you then head on over to Storybrooke where things are about to get cold. The hit ABC fairy tale mash up series Once Upon A Time is taking on Disney Frozen in Season 4. Co-executive producer, Adam Horowitz recently told E! News about about adding the hit movie to the show:
