The CW Renewed ‘100’ Two-Part Season Finale Episode Preview: Ratings Return After ‘Arrow’ Season 2 Exit, [SPOILERS]

The first half of the two-part Season 1 finale of the CW’s new show The 100 airs tonight. Check the report below to see what is in store for the send off. Don’t worry the show will return next year despite a slight ratings drop following the Arrow Season 2 finale.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode,"We Are Grounders, Part 1," reads:

“Clarke and Finn escape one dangerous situation only to find themselves faced with a new enemy. Bellamy makes a heroic move to save Jasper. Raven faces a new danger, and Murphy finally gets his revenge. Meanwhile, those remaining on the Ark are coming to terms with the inevitable.”

The story continues in next week in the Season 1 finale. The plot synopsis for the last episode, titled “We Are Grounders, Part 2,” reads:

“Conclusion. Bellamy forces Octavia to make a difficult decision in the Season 1 finale. Later, Finn takes a risk.”

The ratings to the show were starting to drop after the departure of its DC Comics tie-in Arrow. However, last week’s episode raised the ratings back up from a 1.46 to close to pre Arrow levels of 1.71.

The show has proven itself successful enough to warrant a second season. CW President, Mark Pedowitz recently praised the whole networks performace, tellingTV Guide about the past season:

“It is actually our most-watched season since 2010-11. Our new hit series The Originals, paired with Supernatural on a new night, doubled our ratings year-to-year on Tuesday nights. The 100, which premiered at midseason, was our most-watched series premiere of the season and was the most-watched show in its time period in almost four years. And Reign has boosted the audience in its time period on Thursday nights.”

The two-part Season 1 finale of The 100 airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. on The CW.
