New jackpot totals for this week’s Mega Millions lottery drawing has reached a whopping $34 million.
Just because there was no big jackpot winner, that doesn’t mean everyone went home empty handed. The Mega Millions website has issued a press release on the recent $2 million dollar winner:
“The May 27 Mega Millions drawing produced two Match 5 winners, one each in New York and Texas. The Texas ticket included the optional Megaplier purchase for an additional $1, and the lucky player was rewarded with a $2 million prize when the 2x Megaplier was drawn.
“It marks the third Megaplied Match 5 prize won in Texas since the game was relaunched last October with the enhanced Megaplier option, following earlier wins at $5 million and $4 million. Six other multi-million Match 5 prizes with the Megaplier have been won – two at $5 million (in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania) and four at $3 million (in Arkansas, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia).
“Overall, there have been almost 14 million Megaplied winners at all levels since last October, with prizes ranging from $2 all the way up to $5 million. Of those, 250 won the game’s Megaplied third prize, matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball, for enhanced prizes of $10,000 to $25,000 for just a $1 additional purchase. If added to any ticket, the Megaplier applies to all non-jackpot prizes.”
