Chicago Blackhawks Goalie Corey Crawford Assault Investigation Arrest Dropped? Kings Drama Jonathan Quick Tempers Flare

It looks like Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford may be off the hook for assault charges for spraying an LA Kings fan in the face with a water bottle last week. The fan has reportedly dropped the issue though officials say they still have an open investigation for now. Elsewhere in the heated series Crawford came close to assaulting Kings goalie Jonathan Quick following the second period of Chicago's win in game 6 last Friday.

Clark Wong, an LA Kings fan who was sprayed in the face with a water bottle last week after heckling Chicago's goalie Corey Crawford, is now refusing to cooperate with police. Which probably means nothing will come of the case (via TMZ):

"Now, law enforcement sources tell us ... officials have reached out to follow up with Wong, but have not been able to reach him and he's not returning calls.

"We also spoke with Wong who told us he no longer wants to pursue the case.

"Law enforcement tells us the case will remain open for now ... but without Wong's cooperation, it looks like Crawford's gonna skate."

That's not the only news Crawford made in this series (which the Kings ultimately won in 7 games). The hotheaded goalie also managed to butt heads, literally, with Kings goalie Jonathan Quick on the way back to the bench after the second period ended. When Chicago forward Andrew Shaw collided with Quick as the period ended there was a minor scuffle that ended before it really began. But as the teams crossed each other to their respective benches the two goalies got in each other's faces for a few seconds (via CBS Sports):

"Quick would get bumped again as he and Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford crossed at center ice. Crawford appeared to have some words for Quick and the Kings goalie wasn't about to back down. He went right at Crawford as the two exchanged words again before the referee stepped in to separate them."
