Floyd "Money" Mayweather is as at home in the news as he is in the boxing ring. Floyd finally explained his side of the brawl that occurred between him and rapper T.I. on Memorial Day weekend The beatdown was allegedly over T.I.'s wife. He also made a statement defending his little buddy, pop star Justin Beiber after footage was released of him making a tasteless racist joke.
According to Mayweather, T.I. approached him weeks ago after May's highly publicized jewelry run saying he needed to talk to the boxer. Apparently he felt there might be something going on between his wife and Mayweather. May assured him that was not the case. Cut to Memorial Day weekend in Vegas (via Bleacher Report):
"'... I'm eating at Fatburger and next thing you know, he walk in talking about we need to talk again. And then I told him, "You need to get the f--k outta my face..." And then he said, "I ain't talking to all these people so you ain't gotta talk loud." I said... "Like I told you before, you must've forgot what I did for a living." He said, "You do in the ring, I do it in the streets." I said, "My man, I do it everywhere. You can find out if you want to." Just like that.'"
Absent from the shenanigans at Fatburger was Justin Beiber, May's favorite teen idol. Beebs was having his own set of problems after a video leaked of him telling a racist joke. His friends didn't even laugh. But Beiber's one true friend, Floyd Mayweather, stood by him (via TMZ):
"'Justin has been nothing but kind to me, my daughters and sons over the years. We all make mistakes when we are young, it's part of growing up.
"Justin has since apologized -- saying, 'Five years ago I made a reckless and immature mistake and I'm grateful to those close to me who helped me learn those lessons as a young man.'"
