A group of Seattle Seahawks recently tried their hand at a cooking show with none other than the First Lady! Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, and Earl Thomas filmed a segment with Michelle Obama to promote her "Let's Move" initiative. Wilson, who has recently announced his divorce, at least gets to keep his favorite target in wide receiver Doug Baldwin. Baldwin just inked a new deal for a guaranteed $16 Million through 2016.
With the loss of Golden Tate to the Lions it helps to know that Wilson can still drop back and connect with Doug Baldwin. Insiders believe that is a huge step in the drive to win a second consecutive Super Bowl (via ESPN):
"No one on the offensive side of the ball deserves it more than Baldwin. He caught 50 passes for 778 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season last year, but that hardly describes his contribution.
"Success in the NFL is about making the big play at key moments, something that has become Baldwin's forte. He kept several drives alive last season with his toe-tapping sideline catches on third downs. He became Wilson's go-to guy when the game was on the line."
Speaking of big plays, Wilson, superstar cornerback Richard Sherman Earl Thomas recently appeared on a video segment with first lady Michelle Obama. Their healthful meal of salmon cakes and succotash tied in nicely with the health-oriented "Let's Move" campaign (via Bleacher Report):
"Obama acted as sideline reporter and interviewed Sherman, who went into an obligatory remixing of his famous NFC Championship rant.
"'Well let me tell you, we the best chefs in the game,' Sherman said. 'So when you try us with an easy meal like salmon cakes and succotash, that's the result you gon' get.'"
