Retired CM Punk Rumors After Mean Girl Comments Michelle Beadle Trash Talk

Cm Punk still won't comment on the rumors that he is leaving wrestling for good. Half the wrestling world is certain he's retired and the other half is certain he's going to show up at Payback this Sunday. And as if there wasn't enough ink on this guy, an incident from last year has resurfaced when Punk and his girlfriend had a confrontation with sportscaster Michelle Beadle in which Punk thought she was bringing some trash talk. Beadle says her comments were taken out of context and that the whole mean girl routine was just a joke.

Beadle, host of ESPN's Sports Nation, is brash and speaks her mind and kind of has a foul mouth. So when she ran into CM Punk at a Tribute to the Troops event last year she greeted him like she would greet any of her friends, by calling him an offensive name. But according to her Punk (real name Phil Brooks) took it way too seriously and he told his girlfriend AJ Lee. Lee then confronted Beadle about it (via Cage Side Seats):

"... I see him in the hallway, I say 'what up, f-face', which is my very loving way of referring to my friends... I call them all kinds of names, that's how you know I like you...

"And, you know, Phil and I stopped being friends that day and I wish him the best of luck and that's it. It's a bummer because I always respected him... but to watch all that happen and to have somebody tattle on me and have their girlfriend get in my face is a little pathetic."

While Punk and Beadle haven't buried the hatchet, Punk has been finding lots of constructive ways to fill his down time. While working on a charity project Punk answered an interview question as directly as possible since the rumors of his permanent exit have begun to circulate (via Red Eye Chicago):

"REC: How does it feel to be retired at 35? Are you going to be doing more charity work now?

"CM PUNK: It feels good. It's a lot easier when you hook up with organizations like the Cubs and being friends with some of the team members. It isn't hard to support their charities. Plus I get to do fun stuff like bowl and paint chairs and play whiffle ball with Bill Murray."

While that may make it sound like a confirmation, it's far from an official public statement so let's keep Punk's retirement in the rumor file for now.
