“Thats our Hitler!”....OK! More like our Thanos. Marvel has official cast Josh Brolin as the Death obsessed Eternal Titian in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Brolin will reprise the role in next year’s Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Brolin played the lead in the poorly received DC comics Western Jonah Hex. Josh will appear in the upcoming comic film, Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For. Brolin was also rumored to be in the running to play The Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, before the role went to Ben Affleck.
It has been no secret that Thanos was going to be a part of the upcoming Marvel film, Guardians of the Galaxy, which would lead into next year’s Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Now James Brolin has been cast as the MCU villain.
Earlier in the year, Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn was a guest on the Pointless Podcast with Kevin Pereira, where he spoke about Thanos’s role in the new film:
"The Marvel Cinematic Universe takes out of both the 616 and Ultimate Marvel Comics universe, and then they recreate some elements themselves. What Thanos wants in the comics is not necessarily what Thanos wants in the movies; we don't know yet."
