Black Friday is day after Thanksgiving and experts are giving tips to capitalize on how to stay on top of the crowds and get what you want.
Stores like Target and Best Buy expecting huge customer traffic and despite the rumors of employee discontent America's largest job supplier Walmart is looking for a strong Black Friday outing.
"We'll have more than one million associates working throughout the holiday weekend and they're excited about our Black Friday plans this year. This is the Super Bowl for retailers and we're ready," said Walmart spokesman Dan Fogelman.
One of the ways Black Friday shoppers can make sure they get the best out of the 24 hours is to use an everyday device, their smartphone. PayPal's Claudia Lombana told Forbes this is a sure fire way to avoid the madness of the day and cut out long winded searches.
"The best Black Friday deals can be found on the apps specific to Black Friday, such as TGIBlackFriday.com and RetailMeNot.com," said Lombana.
According to Forbes these type of apps can group together what your shopping for by category, retailer and by "newest."
Another ploy to guarantee Black Friday success is seeing if you can scoop up what you want from the comfort of your own home. Online shopping is a very good option so one doesn't have to deal with massive crowds.
"Some shoppers love the Black Friday atmosphere, the chaos and excitement that come with the once-a-year shopping experience. But if that's not your thing, you should know that the vast majority of Black Friday deals offered in stores can also be had online. These deals will almost always be available to online shoppers at the same time that stores are offering their best deals," Mark Di Vincenzo of MarkDiVincenzo.com.
Di Vincenzo also offers up a rational tip to Black Friday shoppers often overlook and that is to never follow the crowds and map out your own path.
"On Black Friday, this translates to don't follow the crowds. Why wait in a long line for a $300 TV at Walmart or some other big-box retailer when you can find the same TV for $325 at a locally owned store, where there are no - or shorter - lines? Stores that don't have the reputation for offering "door-busters" or don't have the budget to spend a lot on advertising also want your business. These locally owned stores often offer good deals - without the drama - on Black Friday," Di Vincenzo.
