Netflix ‘Daredevil:’ Drew Goddard Leaves Show For ‘Spider-Man’ Spin-Off ‘Sinister Six,’ ‘Smallville’ Steven DeKnight Takes Over

Daredevil has been attacked by the Sinister Six. The group of of Spider-Man villains have taken Drew Goddard away from Netflix series. Have no fear, Man Without Fear fans. Former Spartacus executive producer, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Smallville writer Steven DeKnight is taking over the reigns.

Drew Goddard loves Daredevil, he has been a DD fanboy for most of his life. Last year the writer/director told Collider all about his fondness for the Man Without Fear:

"You’re talking to a guy who had quotes from Daredevil painted on his walls growing up. When I was 18 I still had the blood-red door with the ‘I have shown him that a man without hope is a man without fear,’ that was what I love. If we can find the right project, I’d love to do it.”

However, Goddard has now dropped out of the project in order to helm the Amazing Spider-Man villain based spin-off, The Sinister Six. Now former Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Smallville writer Steven DeKnight has stepped up to overseas the series.

Following the announcement DeKnight retweeted a post by Man Without Fear along with an message:

“Deeply honored to be a part of it. RT @manwithoutfear: @stevendeknight Welcome aboard!”

Goddard has reportedly written the first two episodes of the Daredevil mini-series.
