Recently The Walking Dead began filming it’s fifth season. The hit AMC series returns this fall and now Robert Kirkman and the show’s crew are spoiling a killer premiere.
The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, recently filed AMC in on how the first episode was going, as Wetpaint reports:
"everything is fantastic...It feels like being in elementary school the first day you're back after summer break. Everyone is so excited and they're hugging...we really do have one big family. We've already, not surprisingly, worked with a few walkers. We've really hit our stride now. All of our crew members are completely prepared, our cast is top-notch and confident, the scripts are coming in and we have such fantastic directors."
Hurd went on to praise the upcoming Season 5 premiere, adding:
"I'm really looking forward to the premiere, and the reactions that the fans have once we're back on the air. That's why we do all this- the cast, the crew--we're part of a big worldwide family with our fans. The connection, the feedback, the love--and a little bit of hate sometimes--is why we're sitting here sweating in Georgia. We do it for the fans."
The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what is like to be back on set:
“You feel like you never left. Everyone’s happy to be back together, so it’s been pretty great and everybody’s bringing their A game still, 5 years in. We’re doing new and different and crazy and exciting things and now I think the atmosphere is that we can’t wait until we can start sharing things with people and start showing things to people because we’re really excited about what we’re doing here. We think we’re making another magical season.”
The Walking Dead returns this October on AMC.
