Good Morning America minority-triple-threat co-host Robin Roberts is terrible broken up by the passing of American author Maya Angelou and lamented the dying of the poet's light on Twitter today. The recently outed lesbian attended a LGBT college event with her rumored to be pregnant girlfriend Amber Laign, though Roberts' longtime lover seemed anything but--appearing with not even the faintest hint of a baby bump. Robin encouraged the matriculaters to stay strong and courageous in their fight to change to future for the better.
One of the United States' most beautiful poetic voice in the history of its republic, Maya Angelou, died today at the age of 86.
Good Morning America survivor Robin Roberts expressed the pain of losing a voice that helped shaped her formative years forever, via Twitter:
"Saddened by the passing of Dr. Maya Angelou. Grateful for all she taught us with her words & spirit. Will never forget how she made me feel."
Robin is finally trying to help influence young student that faced the same challenges she did not to hide in the closet for years, but to lift up the heads and their voices and continue to fight for a better tomorrow than they are living in today (via NY Daily News):
"I am delighted to support GLSEN, an incredible organization that is working to end bullying and make schools safer for LGBT students.
"I'm particularly happy to lift up the leadership of students who fight for respect and dignity for all...Students like the ones GLSEN works with all across the country are truly putting that something to work in the service of a better world."
Since Robin Roberts knows why the cage bird sings, one has to wonder why the hell it took so long for her to start making some real noise...but late is always better than never.
