Is there any truth to the rumor that Georges St. Pierre is working as a bouncer? Well, not exactly. Actually no, not at all. However the fighter used to work as a bouncer at a hip hop club before he joined the UFC. That job apparently didn't suit him. But he seems to be enjoying Hollywood, as the novice actor is slated to appear in the new Kickboxer remake.
So when Georges St. Pierre was a young stud he used to work as a bouncer (via TMZ):
"GSP didn't name the club or say where it was located ... but he did say that it was overrun with violent people.
"'It was a hip hop nightclub ... it brings a lot of ... you know.'"
"The 'you know' was young gang members, according to Georges ... who says, 'It was a lot of [fighting] and it was just a headache every night.'"
Apart from that thinly veiled racist sentiment, that probably was a crappy job.
But you know what's not a crappy job? Starring in action movies. St. Pierre has a small role in the upcoming Kickboxer remake (via Fox Sports):
"Just like many kids of the late '80s and early '90s, GSP found JCVD flicks and became enraptured by his stylish ability to save the world and get the girl.
"It was in some ways his own introduction to martial arts, as well as the push he needed to get involved in them.
"So years later, when the movie studios are set upon rebooting the classic fight flick Kickboxer, you knew they were going to call on St-Pierre for something."
Duh. And unlike some of the other movies he's done GSP is tailor made to be in Kickboxer. This remake might actually be worth seeing.
What do you think? Will you go see the new Kickboxer when it comes out?
