Nick Holt from Western Kentucky, wait... there's two of them. Junior linebacker from Western Kentucky was arrested a few weeks ago, after allegedly attacking two cops at a house party.
After police showed up to a house party Holt was being aggressive and threatening to police, security, guests and whoever else was in the vicinity. After resisting arrest he was taken down and given a souvenir for his efforts (via TMZ):
"But things REALLY got bad when Bowling Green police officers tried to take Holt into custody -- because cops say he not only resisted ... but THREW HIS BACK into one of the cops, knocking the officer into some nearby shrubs.
"Another cop jumped into action and took the 6'1" linebacker to the ground face-first ... and he was eventually handcuffed. We're guessing the black eye was a result of the strong takedown. "
Holt was charged with public drunkenness, resisting arrest and second-degree disorderly conduct.
His father, Nick Holt, was probably peeved. And not just because they share a name or that his kid got beat down by cops for acting a fool. Nick Holt is also Nick Holt's boss. As defensive coordinator for the Hilltoppers, the junior Holt would answer directly to his dad on the field as well as at the dinner table.
There is still no word, however, on whether Holt will face disciplinary action from his team. His pops will probably smack him around though.
At least he got some playing time before ruining his college football career (via NBC Sports):
"After transferring to the Hilltoppers from the JUCO ranks, Holt starred in WKU's spring game this past April. Exiting spring practice, Holt had taken on the look of a starter for his dad's defense."
