‘Avengers 2’ Director Joss Whedon Shares Love For Edgar Wright After ‘Ant-Man’ Marvel Breakup [TWITTER] [PHOTO]

Ant-Man and Ultron have always been related. In the comics the Avenger and the villain are basically father and son. However, the new movie franchise has split the family. If it was bad enough that Ultron has been adopted by Iron Man, now Ant-Man has lost another family member. Director Edgar Wright has left the film that he has been involved with since 2006. Avengers 2: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon has not let the divorce stop him from sharing some love with Edgar Wright via Twitter with a very special photo.

Last week Marvel and Edgar Wright announced to they were consciously uncoupling in a joint statement:

“Marvel and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on ANT-MAN due to differences in their vision of the film. The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.”

Daddy Wright and momma Marvel have gone their separate ways. (Please someone think of the children) However, Joss Whedon isn’t choosing sides in the divorce. The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron director has posted a picture of an Cornetto ice-cream bar. The british Ice-cream treat has been featured in many of Wright’s films.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn also chimed in on the breakup, writing on his Facebook:

“It's easy to try to make one party ‘right’ and another party ‘wrong’ when a breakup happens, but it often isn't that simple. Or perhaps it's even more simple than that--not everyone belongs in a relationship together. It doesn't mean they're not wonderful people. And that's true of both Edgar Wright and Marvel. One of them isn't a person, but I think you get what I mean.”
