After weeks of rumors that the couple is engaged, it appears that Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling may breakup after all. The rumored split was said to occur before Ryan Gosling's new movie appeared at Cannes, where it was said to fail.
Just a few weeks ago, Celebrity Dirty Laundry revealed to its readers that Eva and Ryan may possibly be engaged. According to a recent article on the site, the couple will likely hold off on going public with the announcement:
"Will the couple go public with their rumored engagement?...It would be difficult to hide a massive engagement ring while being photographed by the press in every angle possible, but then again, it's unlikely [Eva Mendes] even wear a ring. If the duo are engaged, then they'll probably attempt to keep it a secret for as long as humanly possible. Both of them are notorious for hating the press attention, and even with Ryan having to promote his new movie...he'll be amenable to opening up about his personal life all that much."
Turns out those rumors couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, the tow haven't been photographed together in over six months AND Eva wasn't there to support her husband when his new film tanked at Cannes, as People reports:
"While Ryan Gosling promotes his directorial debut, Lost River, at the Cannes Film Festival this week, one person has been conspicuously absent: his girlfriend of three years, Eva Mendes - who happens to costar in the film... Meanwhile, Mendes, 40, has been keeping a low-profile, and the pair haven't been photographed together since last November."
Of course, this isn't the first time we've seen rumors that Eva and Ryan were going to call it quits. A recent article in OK! suggests that two are going to call it quits, because Ryan hasn't proposed yet:
"For the past 18 months, they've been talking about taking the next step, to the point that on every vacation, Eva's been convinced he would be popping the question. The trip to Iceland in September was the last straw. She pretty much gave him an ultimatum, but he balked and she stormed out and flew back to the States without him."
