True love seems to be in the air for Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings and (gay?) girlfriend Lashontae Heckard seem to be looking toward the altar if rumors are to be believed. If other rumors are to be believed, Heckard will first have to finish dumping her jealous ex-girlfriend! Yes another woman is threatening to disrupt Jennings' matrimonial bliss- Heckard's woman. Heckard and her ex separated in 2011, but still are technically domestic partners. Jennings also has a promising new relationship in the form of new coach Stan Van Gundy.
According to TMZ, the new couple want to get married but first have to dissolve Heckard's existing legally binding agreement (via TMZ):
"There are rumblings that Jennings and Heckard are engaged -- but fact is, Heckard can't legally tie the knot until she terminates her relationship with a woman named Monique Blanton ... who she domestically partnered up with back in 2008.
"According to court docs filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Lashontae took Monique's last name -- so, their relationship appears to have been more than just a way to save on taxes.
"In the docs, Tae checked the box to legally restore her last name to Heckard -- clearing the way to become a Jennings ... if, in fact, she and Brandon trade 'I dos.'"
With all the legal hassles and paperwork, Jennings must be looking forward to his other new union; that of new Detroit coach/president Stan Van Gundy. Methodical and passionate, and with an unprecedented level of control over personnel, it's an exciting time to be a Detroit Piston, especially if you're Brandon Jennings.
