SPOILER ALERT: HBO’s Game of Thrones might be taking the week off, but Penny Dreadful isn’t about to slow it’s momentum two episodes in. The new series stars Josh Hartnett with Timothy Dalton Dr. Who’s Billie Piper. Check the preview below to see what is in store for the series in the all new episode.
Three week’s ago Showtime treated the world to it’s annual free preview weekend event. During that time they premiered the brand new series Penny Dreadful. While some other networks are taking the weekend off, because lets face it viewers are on vacation, Showtime is holding out faith in the On Demand/ DVR age. The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of Penny Dreadful, titled ”Resurrection," reads:
“Dr. Frankenstein is confronted by his past. Meanwhile, Vanessa has a vision of Mina.”
The show features, Doctor Who’s former companion Rose actress Billie Piper. Piper recently spoke about the new show at the UK premiere, comparing it to her old one, as Radio Times reported:
"I've never been scared by the Daleks myself...As much as [Penny Dreadful] has all these supernatural elements [like Doctor Who] I think it's largely about mortality. It's about lots of people existing on the outskirts of society and becoming one and living with demons and darkness--and I think all of that is pretty scary. Far scarier than a Dalek!"
The all new episode of Penny Dreadful airs Sunday May 25, at 10:00 p.m. on Showtime.
