After Russell Wilson Divorce, Seahawks White House Visit President Obama Jokes

The Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks paid a visit to the White House on Wednesday to be honored by President Obanma. After quarterback Russell Wilson's divorce, here's hoping he has a sense of humor because the President had some jokes.

One of the best public speakers to ever hold the office, President Obama can also drop jokes. He had a few for the Seahawks during their White house visit on Wednesday (via TMZ):

"Yes, the Headliner-Of-State broke out the jokes during a speech at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. today to honor the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.

"Obama zinged Richard Sherman, Marshawn Lynch and even Russell Wilson's hair -- some of it was actually not bad."

Commenting on everything from Russell Wilson's hair to Richard Sherman's press antics and Marshawn Lynch's anti-press stance, the President even did a number on the 12th man (via CSN Washington):

"President Obama even joked about Seattle's famed home field advantage, calling the architecture of the stadium "cheating" the way it holds in the noise. But this day was all smiles, from Seattle coach Pete Carroll to quarterback Russell Wilson and the NFL's most famous cornerback Richard Sherman.

"Despite all the good-natured barbs, Obama also saluted the Seattle squad for their character. The President said that much like his rise to the nation's top office, many of the Seahawks players came from relative obscurity to stardom, and he appreciated their perseverance."

It's true that the Seahawks do seem to have a more wholesome make-up than the average NFL team. Even the very public divorce of QB Russell Wilson is not as salacious as all the online rumors and speculation make it out to be. Perhaps that contributed to their success on the field: hard work, team attitude and a minimum of off-field distractions.

What do you think? What does it take to build a Super Bowl Championship team?
