Retired CM Punk Return to WWE, Injured Champ Daniel Bryan Neck Surgery? [Rumors]

Rumors are flying as to when two of the WWE's hottest performers will return to the ring. With CM Punk pointedly not commenting on the rumor that he has retired fans can only speculate and predict. And Heavyweight Champ Daniel Bryant just got out of neck surgery so who knows when he can wrestle again.

With two of the hottest names in wrestling currently not performing for the WWE, it's no wonder Vince McMahon's stock dropped. However, the rumors are flying as hard as ever. Daniel Bryan is out with a neck injury that required surgery but is confirmed to appear on RAW next Monday. He is surely still recovering but it's a good sign.

Although there is no concrete word on his return to active status one thing is sure. Fans and critics want to see his story change for the better (via Bleacher Report):

"Put him in a program with another heel-Bray Wyatt or Cesaro spring to mind. Bryan needs to get away from the cartoonish angles and be placed back in serious, competitive feuds.

"Distancing Brie from him in the storylines would be a nice idea too. There's no good that can come from continually pairing them in angles."

As for CM Punk, he holds his own future in his hands. He has not been seen at a WWE event since January. And his close friend Natalie Slater basically said he was retired even though she didn't mention him by name. He's marrying AJ Lee next month, and has given no indication that he'll show up to Pay-Per-View's Payback in his hometown of Chicago in June.

Either this is the biggest angle since Jerry Lawler's famous feud with Andy Kaufman in the 70's, or CM just can't say anything until his contract expires in July.

Either way fans will just have to wait and see.
