After Reality Show Legends House, Hall of Fame Wrestler Tony Atlas Following to North Korea?

Co-star of reality show WWE's Legends House and former "Mr. USA" bodybuilding champion Tony Atlas wants to go to North Korea to wrestle. Following basketball's Dennis Rodman's head-scratching trip to North Korea last winter, it is unlikely that anyone in his right mind would go back there.

Atlas, though, marches to the beat of his own drum. If anything, at least Atlas' reputation isn't as inherently attention-grabbing, which means the trip probably won't crash and burn before takeoff. Still, it's probably ill-advised (via TMZ):

"The event -- announced Monday -- will be held August in Pyongyang, and although the lineup hasn't been revealed ... Atlas says he'd proudly lace up his boots for a match ... even though he's 70 YEARS OLD!

"Tony, aka Mr. USA, sees it as his patriotic duty, telling us ...'If Mr. USA wins his match, the people of North Korea will have freedom from oppression ... and Mr. USA always fights for freedom and righteousness.'

"We doubt Kim Jong-un sees it that way."

It's not unheard of for exhibition athletics to have a positive diplomatic impact, but things probably aren't close enough with US/North Korea relations for that to be very effective right now. Especially when our ambassador is the 70 year-old star of a ridiculous reality show. Here is an excerpt from a recap of Legends House (via Cageside Seats):

"Atlas tries to cut a promo on a horse and it no-sells his fist pump. Then we cut to Jimmy Hart blowdrying his hair back at the house. He's also standing there in a towel and looks like a deflated King Hippo.

"This is unsettling. I am now deathly afraid of getting old.

"Atlas tells Hart that he went to the doctor and found out his IQ is one point away from "banana." Pat Patterson can't stand Tony's constant rambling and announces that he must leave the room to go blow his nose."

What do you think? Should American athletes and entertainers be performing in North Korea?
