New York Jets' Coach Dennis Thurman Allegedly Slaps Woman In Restaurant

New York Jets' coach Dennis Thurman could be in hot water after he allegedly slapped a woman in a New Jersey restaurant. The woman claimed he was coming onto her and after she declined he slapped her.

According to Jesse Steinberg, Jets defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman practiced a few offensive moves on her last Wednesday at Pazzo Pazzo restaurant in Morristown. Steinberg filed a complaint that Thurman slapped her after she shut him down and flipped her the bird.

All agree that there was an argument but it is unclear whether Thurman actually struck her (via New York Daily News):

"But according to Pazzo Pazzo manager Dennis Henry, her story is a concoction. 'The allegations are actually false,' Henry told the Daily News.

"'They had a conversation. I guess the lady, she was kind of drunk,' he said.

"'She was pretty much the crazy person and accused him of slapping her when there were 13 witnesses including my bartender,' said the manager, who wasn't present for the altercation but said the bartender insists Thurman did not slap anyone."

It isn't impossible to imagine restaurant management painting Steinber as a crazy lying woman to protect their interests. Thurman is also a regular customer there. But there were 13 witnesses. Also two photographs taken during the alleged incident have been used to show Thurman's left hand supposedly moving in a slapping or swiping motion. But if you look closely, that motion doesn't look like he was close enough to Steinberg to actually connect.

On the other hand, even if Thurman didn't slap the woman, he still seems pretty skeezy. With a history of alleged sexual impropriety Coach Thurman doesn't come out smelling like roses no matter what.

What do you think? Is Dennis Thurman guilty of slapping Steinberg? Or just being an awful sleazebag?
