Forget about the Winter in Westro’s, Storybrooke is about to be Frozen. The hit animated film and the live action fairy tale series, Once Upon a Time, are crossing paths for Season 4. Recently the show’s executive producers opened up about the alternative ending and possible Kristen Bell casting.
Fans were shocked when it was revealed that Season 4 of Once Upon a Time will feature characters from Frozen. However, fans were not the only ones surprised. Executive producer, Edward Kitsis recently spoke to Time where he revealed that he gave the cast scripts with an alternative ending to keep the secret from leaking. Despite the fact that the finale has already aired, Kitsis is keeping his cards pretty close to his chest, not giving away the unused ending:
“It’s something we’re probably going to want to use [later]. It’s another iconic Disney totem. We’ll leave it at that.”
Kitsis’ fellow executive producer Adam Horowitz recently spoke to E! Online about about how they managed to talk Disney into letting them use the Frozen characters:
“It felt like it was in the wheelhouse of what we wanted for the show and we were very excited about it, and we pitched the idea to the studio network and we were very fortunate that they gave us the go-ahead...So there's a lot of trust all around that we need to live up to, we know that this is a beloved characters and a beloved movie. My five-year-old daughter would be the first one to raise the pitchfork. So you know we're very excited and humbled by the opportunity.”
He went on to address the rumors that Kristen Bell will be reprising her role, adding:
“To be perfectly honest we haven't even begun starting casting, there are a lot of amazing people out there and we have to find them….Well Kristen Bell was Anna. We saw the interview you guys did with her and we're going to start our process. [In regards to] Kristen Bell, there's no bigger fans than us, whether it be Frozen or Veronica Mars.”
