After Steve Kerr Snub, New York Knicks Phil Jackson Head Coach, Mark Jackson or Derek Fisher?

Phil Jackson, the new President of the New York Knicks, is trying to make his first move- finding a new head coach. He was close to sealing the deal with former player Steve Kerr, but Kerr took the open slot at Golden State. After the Kerr snub, Jackson has expanded his search to included Mark Jackson (ironically fired from Golden State, creating the vacancy for Kerr) and still active Derek Fisher.

Derek Fisher is a 5-time NBA champion point guard. He won those 5 rings with Phil Jackson as a Laker. Fisher announced earlier this year that he was retiring, and given his leadership skills, basketball mind and history with Jackson makes him an ideal candidate.

However, true professional that he is, Fisher will not make any such decisions until his playoff run with the Oklahoma City Thunder is over. The Thunder actually have a shot at beating San Antonio in the Western Conference Final.

According to the New York Post, Fisher will not entertain speculation while he and his team are focused on winning basketball games:

"Derek Fisher said Monday he hasn't spoken to Phil Jackson since March, but expects the Zen Master to reach out to him after his playoffs are over regarding the Knicks' head-coaching position.

"It was the first public signal Fisher has some interest, after saying in April the job 'is not on my radar or scope.' 'It's humbling... Phil knows better than anybody this time of year, there's a singular focus you have to have. That's what I'm trying to do for myself and team. Regardless of what it is, I'm not concerned about it until after these playoffs are done.'"

Also on Phil Jackson's radar is Mark Jackson who was recently let go by the Golden State Warriors.
