They call him Hollywood Wilson now. Actually nobody calls him that. Russell Wilson is indeed to make a cameo in the upcoming Entourage movie. In fact, when he was on set in March, Wilson made a big impression on the cast (sorry sports fans, no awkward double pun forthcoming). While filming, Wilson connected with actor Kevin Connolly who broke his leg in the process. Cast and crew praised his toughness for showing up to work the next day but he kind of lost cool points when he blamed his broken leg on a bad pass from Wilson.
Wilson showed up in March to film a small scene in the silver screen debut of HBO fave Entourage (via LA Times):
"It's all fun and games till someone gets hurt. In this case, that someone is Kevin Connolly, who plays Eric Murphy on the long-running HBO series due to make its big-screen debut next summer.
"During filming in Los Angeles, Connolly broke his leg in two places while catching passes from the Seattle Seahawks quarterback. The New York Daily News reports that the actor tripped on a sprinkler."
Everyone had fun about it on Twitter.
Last week, however, Connolly kind of lost some cool points when he blamed Wilson for his injury (via TMZ):
"Kev was limping around L.A. the other night -- still recovering after the injury he suffered during a game of catch with the Seattle Seahawks QB in between takes.
"And when we asked who's to blame for the break, Kev pointed the finger right at Russell - 'I know he's the Super Bowl champion, but it wasn't a great pass.'
"Kev says he caught the ball -- because he's a friggin' playmaker -- but says, 'It was a bad pass, I'm not gonna lie.'"
Shame, shame Kevin. You never blame your teammates.
