While there is no statement from CM Punk as of yet regarding his relationship with the WWE some sources are saying that the rumors and speculation are true that the "Best in the World" has quit the WWE. One relationship that seems to be on solid ground is the one with AJ Lee. The announcement of their impending marriage is (almost) enough to distract fans from asking questions about Punk's early retirement. What might be enough? CM Punk leading Cubs fans in song during the seventh inning stretch.
The rumors and speculation about CM Punk's departure from the WWE are true, probably. At least that's what one guy who knows this other guy says might be happening (via Sports World News):
"CM Punk left the WWE four months ago, but he is still being talked about and it appears as though the speculated reasons for why the 'Best in the World' left the company are actually the real reason why he did as Punk left due to frustration with pay, booking and travel...
"It had been speculated that Punk left due to frustration over his booking... Daniel Bryan ended up defeating Triple H at the show and going on to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in what was seen as a 'middle finger' to Punk since he turned down the match with Triple H."
Even though things are sour between Punk and the WWE right now, Punk still has a lot going for him. First off he is getting married to AJ Lee next month, and secondly he got to sing at Wrigley Field this weekend (via Wrestling Inc.):
"CM Punk was in the Chicago Cubs broadcast booth today to sing the 7th inning stretch. During the interview portion, Punk said that he's been playing a lot of NHL '94 on Sega Genesis during his off time and has won the Stanley Cup 18 times."
What do you think? Is CM Punk actually leaving the biz?
