Darren Sharper Date Rape Trial Attorney Shocker [UPDATE]

Former NFL safety Darren Sharper's attorneys, as well as the prosecution, have served up a few shockers in Sharper's date rape trial, in which he has been accused of drugging and raping women in several instances.

Darren Sharper may have made his living as a football player in the NFL, but his legal team look more like tennis pros, trying to volley each of the prosecutions pieces of evidence and undermine them. In a legal document the defense tries to discredit the alleged victims via a nifty 5-point plan (via TMZ):

"Darren Sharper's lawyer just filed legal docs blasting holes in the multiple criminal cases in which the former NFL star is accused of drugging and raping women...

"What's more ... there are 2 Vegas accusers -- Sarah and Jane. Berk says neither woman complained about an alleged rape the day after. In fact, Jane never even hinted she had sex with Sharper. And get this. The guy who had sex with Sarah texted Jane the day after saying, 'I'll have some handsome white boys for [Sarah] when she comes back on her next vacation.' To that Jane replied, '[Sarah] went a little darker last night.' Berk says it sounded NOTHING like a rape."

Aside from the deplorable slut shaming tactics that defense lawyers always seem to use in rape cases, the only plausible hole they seem to have on their side: a key witness for the prosecution is under investigation for allegedly using the same drugging tactics as Sharper is being accused of.

The prosecutor had his own volley, accounting for one of the points of no sperm on certain of the victims (via USA Today):

"Sharper's attorney, Skip Donau, noted that no sperm from Sharper was found on any of the alleged victims in Arizona. But Arizona prosecutor Yigael Cohen had a surprise response to that. He elicited testimony from Tempe Det. Kevin Mace that revealed that Sharper allegedly had undergone a vasectomy, which could account for the lack of sperm."

What do you think? Is the defense just using old slut shaming techniques to get their guilty client acquitted?
