Rockstar Games will release their next installment of their "Grand Theft Auto," series in the spring of 2013.
"Grand Theft Auto V," will be the first major game of the GTA series since "Grand Theft Auto IV," was released in 2008. It will be the 15th game in the series overall.
The game has a fictional setting as players will run riot in the city of "Los Santos," in the state of "San Andreas." An area based on today's Los Angeles, California. The make believe world of "Los Santos," was a part of the Rockstar's "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," a game released in 2004.
The official announcement for the new title was made on October 25, 2011, with the first trailer debuting on November 2, 2011. Players got a feel for the game with the release of a demo on Oct. 11.
"The new trailer focuses on the game's three new protagonists who were revealed last week in a cover article in Game Informer," The Wall Street Journal reported. "The trio consists of Michael, a veteran criminal now retired to become a full-time family man; Franklin, an auto repo man; and Trevor, a violent psychopath in the Quentin Tarantino tradition.
"In a first for the popular and controversial open-world game series, players will be able to switch between the three characters throughout the game's story missions. Each character will have unique abilities and strengths that Rockstar promises will allow players to pull off more elaborate action sequences than the standard run-and-gun behavior that's epitomized the series since GTA III," the Journal said.
The new Rockstar game is slated for Playstation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360 and is currently available for pre-order.
