Retired Terrell Owens Divorce News: No Money for Ex-Wife Court Fees

Terrell Owens may be better remembered for his short-lived reality TV series than for playing football in the NFL. Having not played for the League since 2010, the money hasn't been flowing like it once was. The controversial, semi-retired receiver is claiming, via his lawyer, that he cannot afford his ex-wife's divorce court fees.

Owens, 40, sent legal documents to a judge explaining why he can't be expected to pay for estranged wife Rachel Snider's legal fees (via TMZ):

"In the docs, T.O. says his marriage to Snider was only for 3 days... yet she hired a fancy lawyer who charges through the nose -- and he simply can't afford to pay ... now or ever.

"In fact, Owens explains, 'Besides my athletic abilities, I do not have any special skill set or education that makes me employable. I use my celebrity status as a former NFL player as much as possible as I struggle to earn a living to support my children.'

"Owens says Snider isn't just trying to hurt his wallet -- she's also dead set on destroying his image in the media.

"The couple was married on January 23rd ... and separated on January 26th. And since then, they've been at war for 105 days and counting."

Despite all the media frenzy and controversy Owens is still holding out hope for one more run in professional football.

Though T.O. is essentially unemployable even in the NFL (he has been one of the biggest PR nightmares of the last 20 years), he claims he is in great shape and is physically up to the task (interview from Nov. 2013) (via Mercury News):

"No, I haven't retired officially. My motto is: 'You have to stay ready to so you don't have to get ready.'"

What do you think? Will T.O. ever play football for the NFL again? Is Rachel Snider asking for too much after only 3 days of marriage- even with T.O.?
