Engaged Nashville star Hayden Panettiere seems to have postponed her wedding to professional boxing boyfriend Wladimir Klitschko indefinitely. The wedding hasn't been cancelled; the activist actress just isn't willing to tie the knot until her fiancé's native Ukraine has found some social and political peace. Hayden will have plenty of time to rework her wedding plans in between Nashville seasons--ABC recently announced that it was renewing the series for a 3rd season--especially since NBC passed on putting Hayden in their Heroes reboot Heroes: Reborn.
Actress Hayden Panettiere and her fiancé Wladimir Klitschko have made their stance on the situation in the Ukraine very well known, long before Vladimir Putin started his opportunistic invasion of the country's eastern borders.
It's those strong feeling that have brought the pair to the decision to put their wedding off until all of Ukraine can celebrate with them.
In an interview Hayden told Us Weekly that she didn't see how they could have the happiest day of their lives, knowing that so many of Wladimir's countrymen and women are suffering:
"Everything that's happening in Ukraine definitely put a hold on things. But we have time."
The network which airs Nashville, ABC, has decided to give the show a shot at another season, but the network execs reportedly didn't come to the decision very quickly (via Deadline):
"After spending the day crunching numbers and trying to work with the reduced tax incentives in Tennessee, ABC has renewed country music drama Nashville, from Lionsgate TV and ABC Studios, for a 22-episode third season."
Hayden hoped to be working on NBC Heroes reboot Heroes: Reborn next year as well, but that apparently isn't going to be happening.
Panettiere told Cosmopolitan that she wasn't that upset about not getting the show, just as long as they didn't try to recast her old part on the original series-because that would be messed:
"Well, it was a shock to me...I mean, we had nothing, nothing to do with it; it will definitely be interesting to see how they reinvent that.
"It's a little bit of an interesting feeling because you go, 'That was our show, our home, our family,' something that we had a major part in creating as well.
"I hope that they don't have somebody else playing our characters, that would be a little dagger in the heart."
Replace the cheerleader...Destroy the series.
